Cultivate Occupational Therapy

In home pediatric occupational therapy

Cultivate OT serves children of all ages in Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater.

Services are provided in the child’s home environment for effectiveness and convenience. We can work on the tricky parts of a child’s day, in the real context it happens.

A session typically lasts an hour and involves a check in with the family, fun therapeutic activities to work towards a child’s personal goal areas, and a planning time for carryover during the week.

Frequency of services depends on the child’s needs and what works best for the family. Typically, sessions can be weekly, every other week, or monthly.

Goals are tailored to each family’s priorities. They are determined together at the beginning of treatment.

Goal areas often include areas such as:

  • Independence with self-care activities (examples: getting dressed, bathing, toileting, self-feeding, etc)

  • Picky eating

  • Following morning or bedtime routines

  • Transitioning between activities

  • Handling unexpected changes

  • Self-regulation and managing big feelings

  • Executive functioning

  • Organization and managing belongings

  • Handwriting

  • Fine motor skills for use of school tools

  • And more!

Each child, family, and home are different and unique. We work together to find out what works best, so it looks a little different for everyone!
